First off I know nothing about C. Viper, I just found this and wanted to post it. Feel free to add anything you know about her. Smile

Overview

Viper is a passive aggressive character that relies heavily on momentum to defeat her opponents. She does a lot of damage but due to her low stamina she requires patience to wait for good opportunities. Otherwise, she ends up losing all her life before she gets a chance to do her damage.

Burning Kick is the cornerstone of her game. More specifically, air Burning Kicks. They are used to safely build meter while moving backwards. They are used as pokes. They are used to start offense and to set up frame traps because they are advantage on block. They are used as okizeme, since they hit on both sides and can be placed ambiguously. They are used as mixup as a throw bait since they are airborn (and therefore evade throws) on frame one. They are even used in combos and the EX version is an option as a reversal.

The major downfall to Burning Kicks is that they are focusable. This hinders some of the uses if it becomes predictable, and this must factor in every time it is to be used.

Besides Burning Kicks, it is important that when Viper finally gets in, she is able to present a strong offense using gaps. Seismic Hammers and Feints into pokes can keep opponents pinned down, and mixing that up with gaps is crucial to create openings to do damage.

Between Feints and meterless FADCs she is able to gap any move with any amount of space she wants, creating nearly limitless possibilities. Viper's strength will be a direct result of the player's ability to read the opponent during these pressure opportunities, and choose the right option from her infinite choices to punish what the opponent wants to do.

Strengths

* High damage output
* Everything she does is relatively safe on block
* Very high number of ways to combo into Ultra
* Good Mixup and Pressure

Weaknesses

* Very risky
* Lacks reliable defensive options
* Low vitality
* Below Average Pokes
