SSF4 Discoveries

Since this game just came out (legally ) and I'm sure many of us are messing around in training mode and doing trials; I think we should post up any interesting, helpful, damaging, unusual, hilarious, etc. discoveries in this thread.


Guy:

Can kara Hozanto (qcb+p) from f+mp.

The range is almost full screen this way which is pretty good.



Cody:

Can link c.mp, c.lp, c.mp.

You can end this with Criminal Upper (qcb+p) for a flashy combo.



Makoto:

Can kara Choke Grab (hcb+k) from f+lk.

Possible option select tricks from a jump in?

Here are a few things I noticed with Ibuki:

Her Slide sucks, -5 on hit is absolutely horrendous, nothing like Rose's Godly version

She has several ways to AA opponents:
- Kazegiri (her SRK): absolutely terrible, you have to be expecting your opponent to jump to use it effectively cause otherwise it'll always get stuffed every time
- Ageman (b. MP): excellent, comes out fast
- cr. HP: a lot slower than her Ageman but does more damage and you can SJC out of it to start a mixup (I think you can also cancel it into a move which her command dash - Kasumi Gake - is perfect)
- c. HK: this is to hit your opponent straight above you and it puts them into a juggle state, allowing you to use her Raida (semi-command grab) or even a Super (a little harder to pull off)

I'm gonna be doing her write up later so you'll be getting more info about her in the Character Specific discussion pages (hopefully I do well, I think I did well with the Fuerte one even though I'm not done with his Matchups)

If your guy, and you start your flip move, and Makoto tries to ultra 2 it, you can grab her out of her ultra.

Seth can, in the corner, legz - Ultra2

If you dizzy someone with Makoto's cmd grab, they don't fall down, so you can just keep comboing like you would, or do anything you please afterwards quickly an easily.

Watching friends play the barrel minigame for the fist time is hilarious.

If you were jump over chun while she's doing kikosho, then walk into her back while she's still performing it, you somehow get sucked into the ultra.

My major discovery...Dudders rose is stupid. I played around with it a bit in training and it beats out anything but a focus attack (And Ultras I believe, haven't experimented with that many yet).

Yea, that rose is ridiculous. If you time it right, you can also stop jump-ins. GEEZ!

Yeah Figgy that rose is stupid. There was this guy that joined my endless lobby about a week or two ago that was using it as an anti-air! If the replay's on my HD or something I'll see if I can upload it to youtube... It's either that the way he was using it was incredibly dirty, or the guy he was playing against sucked.
