I stepped away from fighting and shooters's so I can finally play other games in my library and X-Men Origins is one of those games I came across. Based off the 2009 movie, this portrays Wolverine before and right after he receives his adamantium upgrade. An action game throughout, I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

Gameplay: This is a hack-n-slash game through and through. If you like to absolutely demolish human fodder, this is a game to get. As Wolverine, you will be going through moments before he receives his adamantium and right after, when he's known as Weapon X. He has several moves in his arsenal which are similar to his fighting game genre counterpart and they are extremely fun to use. During this adventure, you will be lunging at enemies to impale them with your claws, ripping people in half, jumping on 10 foot monster's backs to cut them down, and a whole bunch of other crazy shenanigans. Though you use the do "this objective 3 times to win" boss fight cliche, they are still intense and enjoyable. Fighting a 30 story Sentinel is frightening. The only boss fight I didn't like was the last one when you fight Deadpool. That is a killer fight on your thumb cause you have to mash one button repeatedly while chasing him down while he teleports like **** around you.

Graphics: They aren't the best but they are standard current generation graphics. Nothing to truly be awe-inspired from. The good thing is there is no frame rate drop depending on how many people are on the screen.

Sounds: From the gun fire, the death throes of your victims, to the "shink" sound of you using your claws, it all sounds great. I loved blasting my surround sound to this game where it's nothing but chaos. The music in the background matches the action on screen perfectly. I only wish they had the hit theme from the 90's cartoon playing at one point.

Poor Gambit had nothing to do in that intro haha

Replayability: Besides going back for some of the achievements, leveling up stats and collectible dog tags, there's really nothing to go back to. It was an enjoyable game so maybe in the near future I'll come back and play it again like I do all my other single player story games.

Multiplayer/Online: N/A

Overall: 8.6
