A little light this week compared to the past few so I apologize. This has been a very busy week.
--- Mortal Kombat takes Golden Joystick Award over SSF4AE and MvC3; a big surprise in the fighting game community.
--- Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter believes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will outsell Battlefield 3 by a margin of 2 to 1 this fall. According to Pachter, Battlefield 3 will sell eight million copies, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will sell 16 million.
If this proves to be true, Modern Warfare 3 would become the best-selling game in United States history, beating out Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold nearly 14 million.
--- Getting a little out of the Capcom realm, Mortal Kombat series creator, Ed Boon, discussed a crossover possibility with Street Fighter in a recent piece on G4TV. The major problem is with game ratings: SF is a Teen rated game and MK is M rated.
--- Latif has left his sponsorship with BrokenTier due to a yet-unnamed better offer.
--- A full change list for the Capcom characters in UMVC3 was released on October 27th.
--- Peter and Bobby Farrelly have wrapped their Three Stooges film, and now they're gearing up to make another stooge tale, of a sort: a sequel to Dumb and Dumber that would star the original film's Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
--- Sony has announced the First Edition bundle for PlayStation Vita. Hardware marketing director John Koller revealed on the PlayStation Blog that customers who pre-order the bundle will receive it on February 15th, one week ahead of the system's scheduled release date.
--- The Wolverine director James Mangold declares that "we're out to make that Wolverine movie that people have been looking forward to seeing." Unlike Origins, this will be a more intense, psychological and action packed movie.
--- A single disc of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's PC version has been stolen from a Fresno, California shipping warehouse. The disc is only half of a two-disc set, but copies have begun circulating among pirates online. The stolen disc was Disc 2 of the set, and it isn't immediately clear which parts of the game it contained.
--- Uncharted 3 director Justin Richmond has said that there are many more Drake stories to tell, provided that fans want to experience them. Perhaps another sequel foretelling?
--- A PSone port of Darkstalkers will be making its way to the PSN in the near future. There will be no updates of graphics or extra modes such as online.
--- Next year marks Street Fighter's and MegaMan's 25th Anniversary. No news yet on how they will celebrate this momentous occasion but talk of bringing MegaMan into an updated world like Sonic did in Sonic Generations is in talk. AE 2012 may be the only addition for SF but only time will tell.
--- Pre-order your copy of UMVC3 from Capcom-Unity and receive free shipping not only for this product, but everything else you add to the cart for this purchase.
--- Now through Halloween, Resident Evil 4 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, and Resident Evil Mercenaries VS for iPhone and iPod Touch are on sale for $0.99 each.
--- During Blizzcon, which took place Oct 21-22 in Anaheim, CA, a musician at the show named "Corpsegrinder", showed off a video of himself ranting about the Alliance, and throwing in common slurs against homosexuals. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime took full responsibility for the video showing (and everything else at Blizzcon), and apologized for this mishap.
