Hey guys, this thread will contain all the useful and helpful tips we can give each other after our fights to help each other grow as players, by all means no one is perfect so we can all benefit from each others ideas

Squishybee: you have a good Ken, you have good links into his fierce SRK, your mix ups after your use of his forward step kick is great as well as your Kara Throw, some things to note when we were facing off

1) Practice some hit confirms, you would go from a low forward canceled into ex tatsu which you wouldn't want to do
2) You have his Kara Throw spot on but your making it predictable by always using it after 2 blocked low jabs
3) If you landed a focus, crumpling your opponent, going directly from SRK FADC Ultra is good but the full ultra won't hit, wait till the body is almost down after crumpling then do SRK FADC Ultra so that the full animation can take affect
4) Practice OS Tech (I'll make a page for this is people want to learn more about it if they don't know it)

Leon: great Dhalsim, excellent use of his pokes and Yoga Fire tricks (as well as Ultra mix ups), I don't have too much too offer up but I'll try, I have nothing for your Rufus cause your excellent with him and his dive kick shenanigans (I guess just tighten up your links is all)

1) Same with Squishy, practice OS Tech, that's a huge step up on anyone's gameplay
2) Practice your Anti-Air's (Back Roundhouse or Back Strong if they are higher in the air)

yeah I got nothing else lol

have fun criticizing all the characters I used lol (maybe next time we fight I'll stick with one or two characters)

OS tech: crouch + lp + lk.

If opponent throws, you get a tech. If opponent doesn't, you get a cr. lk. Timing is tighter on OS tech compared to a normal standing tech. However, landing the cr. lk confirms into combos.

@ Raijin

Fei is definitely your strongest character from what I observed. You can be pretty patient which is good and that got me impatient at times and doing reckless teleports and eating your neutral jump RH. Some things that you should definitely work on.

1) Learn Fei Long's bnb combo
2) Jump in less
3) When you jump in RH and it hits, do a combo or mix up a throw.
4) On my wakeup I can tell you were going to throw when you're really close, cuz you did not mix up with other stuff yet during our matches so I was able to tell your patterns
5) Use your rekkas for poking. It can definitely catch people off guard.
6) Fei's focus attack is really good. Try to use them wisely

If I can think of more I'll post them. GGs and we'll play again sometime.

things to add for Raijin(just played him a little bit ago)

-more mixups
-capitalize on punishes
-execution. maybe it's online that's messing you up, but after hitting your chicken wing you should be able to combo cst. hp xx flame kick. if you have meter to spare, fadc that into another chicken wing. then bam, THE DAMAGE!.
-i don't remember you crossing me up on wakeup. crossups help pressure on wakeup, but don't over use them. landing the crossup will lead to more combos.

That's all for now. ggs Smile

(I hope people don't mind me using nicknames, it's easier to type and it's more of a bonding thing I guess when nicknames are used lol)

Clock: first of all absolutely fun matches cause we were going through nearly all the characters (which I love to do even if I can't use most of them lol), your Sagat isn't as scrubby as mine, you lied! haha excellent Balrog, awesome use of his jabs linked into low roundhouse and then putting in the mix up wake up game. I can't really say much for other characters but here are a few things against Fuerte...

1) It's ok to always wanting the charge but never hesitate to lose it to dash out of Fuerte's dash into mixup, one dodge and a low roundhouse is enough to put a Fuerte down (who's wake up is horrible) which leads to next point
2) Get him down and keep him down, do not let up pressure, when Fuerte gets Ultra, keep up the pressure but be wary of your choice of your continued pressure
3) Corner him, a Fuerte in the corner is a dead Fuerte, keep him there and bash him to death
4) As previously mentioned, always keep up the pressure, do not let him zone you out (which I did extremely successfully against you, I play a mean zoning game with Fuerte which is why a lot of those members of GFAQS respect me for playing such a low tier character), get in and stay in
5) If you noticed how your jump ins got AA'd, if you see Fuerte backdash, the player will most of the time go for Tortilla so just jump and punish (almost always anyway)

that's it for now, hope that helps a bit (you said you had a friend who played Fuerte so you knew most of this anyway)

Simply: too bad you disappeared after only a few matches, but even though there was a tiny bit of lag, your links were spot on (very mean Ryu and Bison), I don't have much to offer atm but I'll try to keep in mind next time we fight

Yeah, for some reason when i was playing you mince, my dash punches didnt come out at times, dont know why. I usually dash punch after a knockdown to keep the distance close or safe jump. I noticed throws on wakeup worked really well since the only options you have on wakeup is ex guacamole, ex run, backdash, or ultra when you have it. meaties would have probably worked well too, until you had ultra. wish we could play locally so lag isnt a factor. we have a friend that plays fuerte but we hardly ever play him. i cant even remember the last time we played with him. I think the total number of matches i played with him would probably be around 20 and that includes the matches when i used to mained rufus lol.

Some things to point out:
-Excellent zoning and use of the whole ring.
-I hate fuerte's run mixups T_T. I wouldnt be as scared to FA on wakeup locally as I am online because it's not consistent online. FADC would probably help tremendously since it removes 2 of your run mixups. But yeah, good run mixup game. I wanted to see that rsf loop though :/.
-you should have done that crossup toward mk on my wakeup more often. I remember playing fuerte online once and he did that A LOT. it makes me lose back charge so i lose the ability to ex dash punch out on wakeup.

We've all just been slacking all together. Us Chicago people havent really been playing as often as we used to. Pressure, I'll repeat it in my head nonstop the next time we play. I'll try spot the times you backdash and tortilla. Tortilla doesnt catch me after i jump in? I can neutral jump if i wanted to? Look forward to playing you again in the near future. ggs Smile

@ JoeBreezy414

Hey joe, GGs from earlier. Here are some of the things I was saying on the mic earlier while we were playing in case you could not hear me. Im just going to try to talk about your Akuma and Ken

Akuma: You know his basic moves. Good use of his teleports. But make sure you spend a little bit of time learning his BNB and punisher combos. After that, then you can learn his mix up games. Use the heavy tatsu less, because it can be easily dodged or blocked. I saw that you didn't jump in too much so that was good. But some things to definitely work on are...learn his combos, use the demon flip more (the palm is good) and mix things up more by using sweep and overhead. (ex: if you see your oppoenent about to block your air fireball, walk up a bit and either sweep him or do an overhead. so now he has to guess whether to block high or low on your fireball.)

Ken: you kind of played ken almost the same way you played akuma. use less heavy tatsus. crouch HP -> Fierce SRK is a good punisher combo if the opponent whiffs a SRK or something. Use his forward mk to get in instead of jump too much. so you can mix that step kick up with jumpins.

other than that...hope we can play more and get you better at the game!

KGersh: good matches earlier, same things as with what was said on your application page but I'll just list a few things I noticed here, good things and things to work on

1) Your good at mixing in the throws, not always making it predictable which is good
2) Your block strings are interesting cause it has it's pros and cons; pros: it messes up OS Tech, I kept getting caught with counterhits cause of mistiming; cons: they aren't tight enough, you can get knocked out of them if your opponent can see what's going on and can tell that you're not choosing a safe blockstring
3) Since you're maining Ryu, it's important that you learn his footsies (he has one of the best in the game, if not the best) read this article, it'll help explain (and is a good read in general) http://sonichurricane.com/?page_id=1702
4) This is imperative, if you trade with your SRK, you need to capitalize on them, many times you could have ultra'd me but you didn't, take advantage of your opponents mistake

otherwise good games, it'll be cool to watch our matches from both of our perspectives, can't wait to see yours (I'll try to have them up by tomorrow night, lots of editing to do)

one more thing, stop relying on using FA for your wake up game, each time I was able to reversal you out of it after I got up, it's fine in certain situations but not to crazy amount of times you did, beware of it, FA is good but not when your gonna eat heavy damage

FA is good against alot of things, I just use it alot in situations that don't call for it, well, maybe just alot in general, lol

Also, GGs Figgy, your brick wall of a Honda shut down my whole squad, save for Vega, lol

I'd love to giveya some tips, but I don't use Honda or Rufus, and you use them both way better than I could anyways, lol

I played Simplypwn last night. I get the feeling that you haven't played many Gens, so I think I should give some tips on fighting Gen.

Always be be prepared to block cross-ups. Gen has the best cross-ups in the game and can lead to deadly things.

Ogas cannot be FA'd - they break armour.

After a forward throw, be prepared for cross-up Ogas.

Once you get around his gimmicks, it's really tough for Gen to win.

Can't think of much else...

Hey everyone, I missed my opportunity to play SmoothXLR yesterday at the Descrub Ranbat, hopefully I'll reach him today. Anyway, I have some new videos that need some critique.

I faced a player named GunHaven17 on PSN, had a average Sakura but gave me trouble with his El Fuerte. The videos are at:

https://www.youtube.com/user/KGershkoff

NOTE: 1 match didn't get uploaded because YouTube was being a b***h that day. I lost in that match to his El Fuerte because I couldn't beat his dash Slide/Splash mix-up. And the fact he landed his Ultra for the win....TWICE!

Match Specific

Part 1: Sakura has slight advantage after ex tatsu, continue blocking, 2:52 no need to use hit confirm combos cause you crumpled her, go all out on that opportunity, 3:44 you can SRK that for more damage, 3:47 you're lucky she didn't ex SRK out of that and you would have lost all your meter for nothing (you did it on me too with your Ultra, it's not guaranteed even though it seems free)

Part 3: 2:49 you can punish those poorly timed FA's on reaction, 5:42 omg cringe

In General

1. His low forward is a good poke but from such a far distance that you're doing it (like half a screen away sometimes) it's better to throw out jabs or shorts
2. Starting up with a cross up for your wake up game is fine but your instantly going into risky combo/endings, against good opponents they will punish you, learn hit confirm combos
3. J. strong is a good setup but you're heavily relying on it and when your opponent catches onto it, that strategy will lose out

good matches otherwise
