--- The EVO 2012 Main Event will be held on July 6-8, 2012 at the fabulous Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

--- IGN eported that the PlayStation Network level cap has been reached by a PS3 account known as Hakoom. The level cap was 50 (1%), and it seemed that Sony didn't have any intention of letting PS3 users go any higher for the time being. Recently, Hakoom has notified IGN that the cap has been lifted and is at the moment, level 55. No word yet if there is a new cap, if at at all.

--- The season 2 premiere of The Walking Dead arrived this weekend and continued to impress.

--- The Hollywood Reporter claims that Hasbro is also talking to director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg about returning for the sequel of Transformers. From the sound of it, both men are still actively involved in getting the project up and running with Paramount.

--- With all the HD remixes coming out for games, Rayman and Devil May Cry are also jumping on the band wagon for graphical updates.

--- George A. Romero is running a host of frightening shows for AMC Fear Fast, from Oct 16th to Oct 31st.

--- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary looks nicer for sure but is still largely the same game we first played from ten years ago. Kinect support is a non-visual feature that has the potential to really differentiate the remastered game from the original Xbox FPS. A big part of what Kinect provides is voice control support which may not immediately sound compelling but it works well.

--- Epic, the grand developer behind the Gears of War and Unreal franchises, turns 20 this year.

--- At Comic-Con in NY, on the dealer's floor, the oldest game on show was a Pong clone, dated back to 1977, created by a German company.

--- A very convincing character select screen image from Soul Calibur V released containing two new characters. One is none other than Ezio Auditore de Firenze from the popular stealth series Assassin’s Creed. It would be difficult to think of a guest character that is a more perfect fit for SC 5.

--- Nintendo predicted earnings of $2.3 billion for the quarter ending September 30th, but according to financial analysts Wedbush Morgan, they could report numbers as low as $1.83 billion.

--- Valve has announced the second add-on for Portal 2, which will offer a new level editor next year.

--- Anyone with a World of Warcraft "Annual Pass" will get access to Diablo III completely free when it launches. It's the full Digital version (so no box), but it comes with an in-game mount called Tyrael's Charger. This may be due to the large drop in subscribers this year.

--- Steve Jobs, in a biography written about him by Walter Isaacson, had true disdain for the Android platform. "I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

--- Nintendo wants the 3DS to succeed so badly that, now, they're literally going to give the system away. The "Chotto Mario na 3DS Present Campaign" is a promotion taking place in Japan – if Japanese gamers buy two or more Nintendo 3DS titles during this Christmas season then they can log on to Japan's Club Nintendo site and enter a giveaway. The prize? 3000 3DS systems.
